About me

Welcome to programming with JAKE!
JAKE forms part of my final year honours research project for my BSc (Hons) in Computing. JAKE stands for "Java Karel with Events", and it's based on Karel the Robot - with some twists. Karel was first created in 1981, and JAKE uses the same principles to teach modern objects-first programming.
At the moment, JAKE is still in an early prototype. The JAKE Java package allows you to create stand-alone JAKE programs in common editors like NetBeans. Soon, the JAKE environment will use a simple interface to let you create your JAKE programs from a built-in template.
